I am very happy about this. 30-33mpg for my normal commute and 35-37 highway. 35mpg was sitting right at 80mph for the entire tank too.
Haven’t had a tank below 30 yet. But too be fair, I purposely didn’t check when I was in the mountains around tail of the dragon. Pretty wild that the Miata is a bit quicker than the Crossfire but gets significantly better mileage.
Progress, except for cylinder count but there is always time for that later.

Also a lot better than what I get in the 328i. I’ve been averaging 26 mpg over 17.5k miles.

How is the road noise at 80? I think I can afford one but I would want to road trip it.

What octane does it take?

The car says 33mpg average over 4k miles (shit I drive too much). Don’t know how accurate that is though.

I’m cranking out 25mpg in my 330Ci. The DC traffic fucks it all up but the highway home evens everything out.

I drive a lot, only 5 weekends with the car so far and I’ve done road trips on 3 of them. I will say its noticeable. I’m okay with it, a little music helps drown it out, but I could see why someone wouldn’t get the car because of it.
Fiat’s and the MX5 GT have 2 layer tops, sports and clubs only get 1 layer.

Your best is 76% better than my best.

I loved this about my old Mazda 3s hatch - I’d absolutely flog it around town, all day, every day, and it still got great mileage.

Hmmm... What would cause you to get a Miata over a BRZ/86 while not counting the convertible top?

Premium? Does that mean 91-94 depending on where you are? Supposedly it can take regular but you’re not get 155hp then, so I wouldn’t do that.

OK gotcha.
Just curious, what does 94 cost where you live? I run 94 and paid $1.62/L last night.

You got that 2jz goodness tho ... and could actually carry people/things if you need to.

Its really nice, I guess this is what 4 banger life is.

Honestly, interior/exterior design.
The top is the other major part of it though, wanted a 2 door convertible while I have no real responsibilities.

That’s significantly better than the TL but I live in a bad area for mileage

I usually get 29 in my Matrix XRS (also premium). I wonder how much of the difference in the numbers is chassis (I’d wager you’re lighter but I’m not sure about slippery-ness) and how much is the engine.

I just fill up in Ontario when on a Toronto road trip, so I don’t even normally look but according to gas buddy the on route I stopped at is 1.41 for premium.

You lucky bastards.

I still got 9-10 mpg during an autocross run. Ran it all the way up to the 2nd gear rev limiter.

I like to double check what the car says as mine is usually 1 -2 mpg higher than what it actually is.

I don’t mind the cost that much, just wish my current car had more range. With at least 60 miles of driving per day, I’m filling up every 4th day.

It was expensive to me. $3o to fill up here only got me 3/4 of tank over the border.

Detroit is obviously great for your gas mileage, no congestion. Thats why I said “commute” instead of city.

Wild how much that drops. Wonder how low mine will get spinning tires this winter snow drifting.

I know its not the weird diesel/gas tech combo engine but Skyactive does seem like good engineering.

In Vancouver this morning, gas is $1.45 for reg. Pricey.

I feel you. Commute is 62 miles round trip and I only have a 10 gallon tank.

Premium for me right now is .84/liter ... I hope your roads are good!
Assuming that extra would be road tax like ours is supposed to be, because our roads are shit.

As long as the people aren’t fat or over 6'3", and as long as those things are aren’t fat or tall people.
